Each has a capacity of 15 MW. <br \/>\u2022 The foundations of the wind turbines are semi-submersible floats, using the most advanced and proven technologies.<br \/>\u2022 The substation for transforming the electricity produced by the turbines from 66kV to 380kV is built at sea and installed on fixed foundations.<br \/>\u2022 The 380kV cables for transporting electricity from the turbines to the national grid are all underground, partly at sea and partly on land.<br \/>\u2022 The electricity generated is conveyed to the existing Terna power station in Brindisi Sud.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n              <div class=\"single\">\n          <h3 class=\"text-white fw-bold pt-3 pb-1 d-flex\">Location <span class=\"ms-auto apriFaq\">+<\/span><\/h3>\n          <p class=\"text-white fw-light\"><p style=\"text-align: justify\">The choice of location was made taking into account several aspects listed below: <br \/>\u2022 Wind intensity <br \/>\u2022 Seabed characteristics <br \/>\u2022 Distance from the coast and minimisation of the visibility and perceptibility of the structures offshore.<br \/>\u2022 Impact on local fishing. <br \/>\u2022 Absence of environmental, military and mineral constraints. <br \/>\u2022 Compatibility with main shipping routes and traffic entering and leaving ports.<\/p>\n<p>The identification of the area was based on studies carried out as part of the POWERED\u2013Project of Offshore Wind Energy: Research, Experimentation, Development, developed under the European Union&#8217;s IPA-Adriatic cross-border cooperation programme, which aims to assess the potential of the Adriatic Sea for the installation of offshore wind farms.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, Lupiae Maris, while remaining within Italian territorial waters, is located in an area far from the coast, thereby reducing the impact on the landscape and minimising interference with human activities.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the project envisages that the onshore cable line will be located near the Cerano coal-fired power plant, decarbonising electricity production in the area and contributing to the stability of Southern Italy\u2019selectricity grid.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n          <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"fasciaFoto\">\n  <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"w-100\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/fascia_foto-17-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section id=\"sostenibilita\" class=\"py_10\">\n  <div class=\"containerLupiae\">\n    <h2 class=\"text-center fw-bold display-4 mb-3 pb-3\">SUSTAINABILITY<\/h2>\n    <p class=\"treColonne\">Offshore wind farms have a limited environmental impact compared to other energy sources. During the construction phase, there may be temporary interference with wildlife, but once installed, wind turbines do not generate polluting emissions or discharge pollutants. In addition, offshore infrastructure can also serve as a habitat for various marine species, thus promoting biodiversity. The positive impact on the local economy is also significant. The development of offshore wind energy production centres contributes to job creation during the construction, operation and maintenance phases, thereby improving the quality of life for coastal communities. But that&#8217;s not all. Greater energy independence reduces dependence on fossil fuel imports, thereby contributing to the country&#8217;s energy security.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n\n<section id=\"inter\"
